Netflix Locks In Plans for ‘Barry,’ About Barack Obama — Here’s the New Trailer, Release Date and Cast Info

Netflix announced plans today to release its new movie about Barack Obama next month, with the movie set in 1981 as a young Obama — known to his friends as “Barry” — arrives for his junior year at Columbia University.

“Barry”  stars Australian newcomer Devon Terrell in a breakout performance as Barry, and features a supporting cast that includes Ashley Judd, Jenna Elfman and up-and-comers Anya Taylor-Joy (“The Witch”), Jason Mitchell (“Straight Outta Compton”), Ellar Coltrane (“Boyhood”), and Avi Nash (“Learning to Drive,” “Silicon Valley”).

The movie is set for release on Netflix Dec. 16.

  1. Who is going to play Michelle Obama? Will “Barry” be shown frequently lighting up a blunt and hanging out with his Saul Alinskey buddies from Chicago??
