‘SNL’ Breaks With Tradition to Pay Tribute to Leonard Cohen

The venerable NBC sketch show “Saturday Night Live” aired an unusual cold open last Saturday, with Kate McKinnon, as her Hillary Clinton character, playing Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” in place of the usual opening sketch. Cohen died earlier in the week at 82.

  2. This came across as kind of tactless. They piggybacked what could have been a touching tribute and made it a parody of sorts with the HRC character and the pseudo defiant attitude towards the election results.
