TCM premieres a programming event tonight that will bring truth to Monday and Wednesday nights throughout the month of November. The cable net launches “TCM Spotlight: To Tell the Truth,” a showcase for acclaimed documentaries going all the way back to the silent era.

The diverse range of titles includes “Woodstock,” “The Sorrow and the Pity,” “Hoop Dreams,” “Grey Gardens,” “Koyaanisqatsi,” “Crumb” and “Nanook of the North.” In all, more than 50 documentaries will be featured, with Alec Baldwin hosting the monthlong series.

TVWeek Open Mic writer Hillary Atkin previewed the event, including a chat with TCM Senior VP of Programming Charlie Tabesh. Click here to get the full story, including the complete schedule of documentaries.
