The highest-paid musical artist of 2016, according to a new report by Forbes magazine, is just who you probably would have guessed: Taylor Swift.
The magazine ranked artists based on their earnings from June 1, 2015, to June 1, 2016. Swift came in with a cool $170 million in earnings during the period — well ahead of everyone else.
Trailing Swift at No. 2 on the list is the highest-earning boy band of all time, One Direction, with $110 million for the year. Adele comes in at No. 3 with $80.5 million.
Madonna wound up fourth at $76.5 million, followed by Rihanna at No. 5 with $75 million.
The report notes that a few older acts also made the top 10, with AC/DC at No. 7 ($67.5 million) and the Rolling Stones at No. 8 ($66.5 million).
