DirecTV and U-Verse subscribers lost a channel this week, as AT&T’s satellite and wired TV services planned to scrap the NBCUniversal and Hearst Magazine-owned Esquire Network Wednesday night, Deadline.com reports.

AT&T commented: “We routinely modify our channel lineups based on many factors, while continuing to strive to offer more choice, control and convenience to our customers.”

Deadline adds: “DirecTV and U-verse together had 25.3 million subscribers as of September. But Esquire wasn’t fully distributed on them: It will lose 11 million homes from DirecTV and 4 million from U-Verse.”

The male-focused Esquire Network, which will now reach about 45 million homes, called the decision “disappointing.”

  1. I’m about done with AT&T after about 40-50 years. I was going to watch Project Runway Allstars tonight (Feb. 15, 2018), and, guess what? It’s not on. If anyone knows of who can beat their prices for bundling I’d love to know.
