A documentary that has created a sensation among critics — including being called one of the most powerful and poignant docs of the past decade by The Daily Beast’s Nick Schager — premieres on Amazon Prime Video on Dec. 29, and one critic suggests that the production, “Gleason,” is so potent it might need a consumer advisory.

Joe Morgenstern of The Wall Street Journal wrote: “Gleason is so powerful in its cumulative effect that it should be accompanied by a consumer advisory — something along the lines of ‘This documentary may cause sudden alterations of mood and attitude.'”

The Amazon Original Movie, which is on the National Board of Review’s list of the Top Five Documentaries of the Year, is directed by Clay Tweel and centers on former New Orleans Saints player Steve Gleason, who was diagnosed with ALS at age 34.

The movie premiered at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival and was released theatrically on July 29 to an overwhelmingly positive critical response.
