A young woman who just signed a deal that will pay her $10 million to be the face of the luxury accessory line Coach is the most popular celebrity on Instagram for the second year in a row. The New York Post’s Page Six reports that singer and actress Selena Gomez signed a deal that will have her starring in Coach ads while also creating her own line of Coach products.
“Despite taking some time out of the spotlight, Gomez was just named the most popular celebrity on Instagram for the second year running, with 104 million followers,” the report notes.
Gomez, who broke out with a starring role on the Disney Channel series “Wizards of Waverly Place” from 2007-2012, is just 24. She has had a wildly successful solo singing career, with her 2015 album “Revival” debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and spawning a series of No. 1 singles including “Good for You,” “Same Old Love” and “Hands To Myself.”
Gomez canceled much of this year’s Revival Tour, citing anxiety and depression attributed to the auto-immune disease lupus.
