Actor to Make His 17th Appearance as Guest Host on ‘SNL’ — a Record for the Show; Who’s No. 2 on That List?

The guest host who was just announced for the Feb. 11 episode of NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” will be hosting the show for a record 17th time. With the appearance, Alec Baldwin will put a little distance between himself and the man who’s second on that list — Steve Martin, who has hosted the show 15 times.

Of course, Baldwin has been a fixture on the show lately anyway, even when he’s not guest hosting. His Donald Trump impression has been seen regularly in the show’s cold opens throughout much of the election cycle and beyond — often provoking Twitter attacks from Trump.

John Goodman has also chalked up an impressive portfolio of “SNL” appearances, hosting the show 13 times to stand at No. 3 on the list.

Among women, the leader in “SNL” hosting gigs is Drew Barrymore with six appearances, topping Candice Bergen and Tina Fey with five apiece.
