Ryan Murphy, the co-creator of “American Horror Story,” revealed that the subject matter for the FX anthology series’ seventh season will be the 2016 presidential election.

Murphy made the revelation Wednesday night on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.” You can see a short clip below, posted by Bravo.

Asked whether the show will include a Trump character, Murphy said, “Maybe.”

The season will begin shooting in June, Murphy noted. The show’s sixth season, “Roanoke,” ended its run in November, and the series has been renewed for two additional seasons, taking it through season nine.

  1. This has always been an excellent program. It will be unfortunate if it turns into a political show that just spews the Hollywood line.

  2. You know it will Cleric. They JUST. CAN’T. HELP. THEMSELVES.
