Fox Says Sunday’s Super Bowl Is the Most-Viewed Program in the History of U.S. Television

Fox is reporting that Sunday’s Super Bowl, in which the New England Patriots mounted a late comeback to take the game to overtime and defeat the Atlanta Falcons, 34-28, delivered a record 172 million viewers for all or part of the event, making it the most-viewed program in U.S. television history.

Fox, Fox Sports GO & NFL Digital and Fox Deportes combined to deliver an average audience of 113.7 million, the network announced. On Fox alone, the audience averaged 111.3 million.

  1. TV Newscheck says this was the 3rd highest rated Super Bowl. Seems like the penchant for Alternative Facts from Fox News are starting to permeate the corporation.
