Actress Lindsay Lohan said she was “racially profiled,” describing an incident that took place at London’s Heathrow Airport while Lohan was traveling to New York. Lohan discussed the incident during an appearance on the U.K. talk show “Good Morning Britain.”
Lohan, who says she has been reading the Koran lately, suggested the incident was triggered by her wearing a headscarf.
“She said an airport worker ‘opened my passport and saw “Lindsay Lohan’” and started immediately apologizing, but then said: “Please take off your headscarf,”’” USA Today reports. “She told ‘Good Morning Britain’ on Tuesday that the incident made her wonder ‘how would another woman who doesn’t feel comfortable taking off her headscarf feel?’”
USA Today notes that Lohan was returning from Turkey after a recent meeting with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
“She said she wore a headscarf in Turkey out of ‘personal respect,'” USA Today reports.
Here’s a clip posted today by “Good Morning Britain” in which Lohan talks about the headscarf incident. Lohan also discusses reading the Koran and addresses questions about whether she’s converting to Islam.
