ABC is getting into business with TV legend Carol Burnett, whose variety hour “The Carol Burnett Show” was a fixture on CBS in the 1970s. The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that ABC gave an official pilot order to the comedy “Household Name,” which will star Burnett.

“Executive produced by ‘Parks and Recreation’ grad Amy Poehler, the multicamera comedy follows a family who has an opportunity to buy the house of their dreams but under extremely abnormal circumstances: They must live with the previous owner, an eccentric, larger-than-life actress (Burnett),” THR reports.

The script will be written by Michael Saltzman, a veteran of “Mad Men,” “The Middle” and “Murphy Brown” who, THR notes, “grew up idolizing Burnett.” The project, which was the focus of competitive bidding, landed at ABC in October with a put-pilot commitment, THR adds.
