‘Walking Dead’ Fans Have a Chance to Appear on the Show as Walkers — But What’s Up With Quebec?

Fans of AMC’s “The Walking Dead” have a chance to earn some “walking around money” as part of a sweepstakes announced today by the cable channel — and oh by the way, they may also wind up on the show as walkers.

AMC announced today that “The Walking Dead” Play Dead Sweepstakes will launch this Sunday, Feb. 12, during the show’s midseason premiere. “Four lucky fans will win the grand prize of a walk-on role as a walker in the 100th episode of the series, including round-trip airfare to the set of ‘The Walking Dead,'” the announcement notes.

The prize also includes lodging for two nights in Atlanta and $500 in cash. The network isn’t specifically calling it “walking around money” — we came up with that.

We were intrigued by a footnote included in the announcement that reads: “Applicants must be 21 years of age or older. The sweepstakes is open to residents of the United States and Canada, with the exception of Quebec.”

We don’t know what Quebec might have against walkers, but we’re sure there’s a good explanation.
