Mischa Barton, who starred as Marissa Cooper on Fox’s “The O.C.,” took a series of legal steps after reportedly being secretly taped having sex with a former lover and then being targeted by revenge porn.

Barton and her lawyer, Lisa Bloom, held a press conference Wednesday to discuss the situation following a tabloid report a day earlier about a sex tape.

“The star of ‘The O.C.’ says the ex used a hidden camera and videotaped her without her consent,” TMZ.com reports. “Bloom says the guy has been shopping the tape around to porn sites. She says she’s obtained a restraining order against the guy, who apparently is looking for a big payday.”

Bloom also filed a report with police, who are said to be investigating the case.

Barton suggested the videotaping was done by a man she dated last year.

“This is a painful situation, and my absolute worst fear was realized when I learned that someone I thought I loved and trusted was filming my most intimate and private moments without my consent, with hidden cameras,” Barton said, according to The Huffington Post.

The actress added: “I came forward to fight this not only for myself, but for all the women out there. I want to protect them from the pain and humiliation that I have had to go through. No woman should have to go through this.”

E! News quotes a statement Wednesday from the Los Angeles Police Department saying: “A report was taken yesterday at the West LA police station. It is currently under review (the police report) and they are going to establish what entity of the department is going to conduct a thorough and formal investigation”

E! reports that multiple restraining orders were obtained, against two of Barton’s exes.

“In one of the restraining orders, obtained by E! News, Barton said two past exes are ‘the only two people who could have any sexually intimate photos or videos’ of her,” E! News reports. “She said that she dated a man in October and that their relationship did not last long. She said that after [they] broke up, she discovered he had taken without her permission videos of them having intimate relationships, photos of her naked in the shower and other nude pics.

“She said that she then began dating another man, who told her [he] was a friend of the previous ex and that the ex had bragged to him about the videos and photos.”

Barton reportedly said the second man also “tried to take advantage” of her. According to the E! report, Barton indicated the man forged her signature on some checks and was arrested.

The restraining orders reportedly bar the men from going near Barton or contacting her, along with barring the distribution of naked photos or videos of Barton. Additionally, cease-and-desist letters have reportedly been sent to people who have attempted to buy the material.
