Well-liked actor Bill Paxton, who died Feb. 25 at the age of 61 in Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, died as a result of a stroke that was triggered by surgery for an aneurysm, TMZ.com reports.
“According to the death certificate, obtained by TMZ, Paxton had just undergone valve replacement surgery to correct the aortic aneurysm problem when complications arose later and he suffered a stroke,” TMZ reports.
The report notes that Paxton had the surgery on Feb. 14, 11 days before he died.
Paxton was known for film roles including “Aliens,” “Twister” and “Apollo 13” and for his starring role on the HBO series “Big Love.”
