Fans of British TV will now have a lot more of it to choose from in the U.S. with the launch today of the new streaming service BritBox from BBC Worldwide and ITV.
The service carries a price tag of $6.99 a month, with a 7-day free trial to get started.
In addition to classics such as “Fawlty Towers,” “Prime Suspect” and “Absolutely Fabulous,” BritBox will be the place to catch newer programs — maybe we should call them “programmes” here — such as “EastEnders” and “Emmerdale,” which will be available on the streamer as soon as 24 hours after they air in the U.K.
Among the other titles: “Inspector Morse,” “Blackadder,” “Are You Being Served?,” “Keeping Up Appearances,” “Holby City,” “Casualty,” “New Blood,” Tutankhamun,” “Cold Feet” and “Silent Witness.”
