A Fox drama will soon have its third showrunner, and the series has only been around for one season. The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that the Lee Daniels drama “Star” will replace showrunner Chuck Pratt for the show’s second season.
Pratt stepped in after original showrunner Charles Murray parted ways with the series in September over differences between his vision for the show and those of Daniels and co-creator Tom Donaghy, THR notes. Reps for Pratt pointed out that he had planned all along to step down after the first season.
“Sources say it was an amicable split and done after season one was completed,” THR reports. “A search for a new showrunner for the previously announced second season of the series starring Queen Latifah is under way. Production on season one has already wrapped and will not be impacted by the change.”
