With its upfront presentation coming up soon, GSN unveiled programming initiatives today reflecting the cable channel’s renewed commitment to its core game show programming.
Among other moves, the channel greenlighted the new series “Emogenius,” a game show that tests contestants’ mastery of emojis, which premieres in June; and gave season two pickups to “Winsanity,” hosted by Donald Faison, and “Divided,” described as part game show, part social experiment.
Programs in development include “D.I. Why?” (working title), about DIY Internet videos; “The Tower,” a game show combining trivia and classic puzzles; and “Blast Your Past” (working title), executive produced by Andy Cohen and built around humiliating celebrities over their lives before they became famous.
