It turns out that an incident first reported as a burglary this morning at the Hollywood Hills home of Kardashian family member Kendall Jenner was an inside job, according to a report by TMZ.com.

Jenner reportedly notified authorities about the incident at 1:15 a.m. today, and it was determined that $200,000 in jewelry was missing. The incident was initially thought to be a burglary, and Jenner reportedly indicated she was concerned that a burglar might still be in the house.

But TMZ reports that authorities later came to a different conclusion.

“Our law enforcement sources tell us what really went down,” TMZ reports. “They say Kendall was having a party with a bunch of friends Wednesday night. At some point in the evening she heard an alarm warning that someone opened a door, but she thought nothing of it.

“We’re told Kendall left at midnight, leaving her friends in the house. When she came back just after 1 a.m. she discovered her jewelry box was open, and that’s when she called the cops.”

The report adds that there was no sign of forced entry and authorities are convinced the thief knew where to look for the valuable jewelry. The crime would be considered a theft, and not a burglary, because the perpetrator was invited into the home.
