How Is ‘The O’Reilly Factor’ Doing Without Bill? Here Are the Numbers

Numbers are in for the first three days of Bill O’Reilly’s vacation from his Fox News flagship “The O’Reilly Factor” — a vacation that some observers felt came about pretty abruptly, and one that happens to coincide with an advertiser exodus from the show amid a sexual harassment scandal for the host.

The AP reports that the numbers are down, with viewership declining 26% over the three days when the show was helmed by substitute hosts Dana Perino, Eric Bolling and Greg Gutfeld.

“Nielsen company figures show that so far, viewers aren’t as interested in ‘The O’Reilly Factor’ without O’Reilly,” the story reports. “Bolling did the best, with his 3.11 million viewership down 16 percent from O’Reilly’s performance a week earlier. The 2.32 million who watched Gutfeld on Friday was down 39 percent from the previous Friday.”

The report notes that O’Reilly’s viewership spiked on the heels of the April 2 New York Times report that triggered the harassment scandal. “In the week that followed, viewership increased to an average of 3.71 million, up 12 percent from the week before the report and 28 percent over the same week in 2016,” the AP reports.

  4. We could not watch The Factor at all without Bill on it this week. Will try but we are afraid it will never be the same! Sorry but Fox News is going down the drain.
