“It’s 1972, and everyone goes to bed together … with Johnny Carson, TV’s biggest star.” So begins a promo blurb released today for the new Seeso series “There’s…Johnny!”

The seven-episode fictional series is a coming-of-age story created and written by Paul Reiser and David Steven Simon and executive produced by Reiser, Simon and David Gordon Green.

“19-year-old Nebraskan Andy Klavin (Ian Nelson — ‘The Hunger Games,’ ‘Teen Wolf’) stumbles his way into a gig as a gofer at Carson’s ‘The Tonight Show’ and into a world that will change his life,” Seeso says in its announcement. “‘There’s…Johnny!’ takes a fictional comedic trip back in time, to go behind the man in front of the curtain, and look at the lives and loves of the people who make all of America laugh.”

The Seeso Original Series premieres Aug. 24. Here’s a teaser …
