A new premiere date has been set for a show that grew out of a segment on CBS’s “The Late Late Show with James Corden.” Reuters reports that the Apple Music streaming service will now make “Carpool Karaoke: The Series” available to subscribers starting Aug. 8.
“The technology giant had previously announced that ‘Carpool Karaoke: The Series’ would be launched in April as part of a move into original video for Apple Music, a $9.99-a-month streaming service,” the report notes. “Apple later delayed the release without providing an explanation, Reuters reported.”
Apple said in a statement that Corden will appear in the new series along with NBA star LeBron James and actor Will Smith.
“Other episodes feature celebrity pairings including John Legend with Alicia Keyes and Taraji P. Henson, and Miley Cyrus with her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, and other family members,” Reuters notes.
The “Carpool Karaoke” segments will reportedly continue to be a part of Corden’s CBS show.
