NBCUniversal is looking for not only new viewers but also new money from its morning lineup when new acquisition Megyn Kelly sets up shop in the daypart.

“The Comcast-based media conglomerate is seeking massive hikes in the rates advertisers pay for the 9 a.m. slot, according to two people familiar with current negotiations,” Variety reports. “NBC has said it will launch a new show anchored by Kelly in the fall at that time.”

The report says NBC is looking for CPM increases as high as 30% — much higher than the expected increases of no more than 8% to 9% this season for broadcast prime.

  1. Prove the show delivers the numbers. Then raise the rates. She has not proven she can deliver numbers outside of the Fox News Cocoon.

  2. Agreed. The greed is setting her up to fail with such high-expectations.
