A new limited series has been commissioned that will re-examine the Watergate scandal of the 1970s. History announced plans today for the documentary series “Watergate” from Academy Award-winning director Charles Ferguson.

The series will feature new interviews with journalists, senior Nixon administration officials, members of Congress, and prosecutors.

History calls the project “the definitive original documentary series about one of the biggest criminal conspiracies in modern politics.”

The series is produced and directed by Ferguson, who directed the Academy Award-winning film “Inside Job” and the Academy Award-nominated film “No End in Sight.”
