Fox Sports announced this week that it is bringing aboard a new rules analyst, hiring former NFL official Dean Blandino in a move that doubles Fox Sports’ stable of rules analysts.

Blandino will work on Fox Sports’ NFL and college football coverage. He joins Mike Pereira, who has been handling rules analyst duties on his own.

The announcement was made by John Entz, President of Production & Executive Producer for Fox Sports.

Said Entz: “Dean is highly respected throughout the NFL. He was inherently transformative in his role at the NFL, leading the officiating team with ensured integrity, and we look forward to having his expertise to turn to this fall.”

Blandino is the NFL’s former senior vice president of officiating. Blandino and Pereira began working together in the NFL office in 1998.
