Netflix announced Thursday that it’s pulling the plug on a big-budget drama series. The streaming service won’t be bringing back “Sense8” for a third season, the Los Angeles Times reports.

In a statement, Cindy Holland, Netflix’s vice president of original content, said: “After 23 episodes, 16 cities and 13 countries, the story of the ‘Sense8’ cluster is coming to an end. It is everything we and the fans dreamed it would be: bold, emotional, stunning … and outright unforgettable.”

The statement adds: “Never has there been a more truly global show with an equally diverse and international cast and crew, which is only mirrored by the connected community of deeply passionate fans all around the world.”

The announcement comes on the heels of last week’s cancellation of “The Get Down.”

  1. Netflix had been the hope of many of us that they wouldn’t be a programming d**k like the networks… well that ope is dashed and like the nets they leave us with an unresolved cliffhanger.

  2. Ugh! Really Netflix? Unbelievable!
