News that the White House may be looking to replace Sean Spicer as press secretary prompted a chant of “Sean! Sean! Sean!” from Stephen Colbert and his audience on CBS’s “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” as the host “lamented” the potential loss of Spicer.

Here’s the monologue, posted by CBS …

  1. Colbert…..try something new and original politics are getting old and tired…..oh and so are you….have you looked at your ratings lately…..

  2. Every single night, Colbert is fantastic. He is must-see television. He provides the most accurate and hilarious skewering of the ridiculous POS occupying the Oval Office.

  3. “Late Show with Stephen Colbert” rose more than any other late-night program in the week, ticking up eight-hundredths of a point from its previous 0.44 to a 0.52. The CBS series also scored the most total viewers in the 11:35 p.m. time slot with an average 3.06 million.
