It sounds like the setup for a joke: “A peacock walks into a liquor store …” But when a female peacock — OK, a peahen — found its way into the Royal Oaks Liquor Store in the Arcadia area of Los Angeles on Monday, it was no joke. The bird wound up doing about $500 worth of damage, smashing wine bottles and creating a disturbance as an animal-control official tried to capture the critter.
