A drama series that has been a breakout on cable since its premiere in April 2016 has received a renewal for a third season. Syfy announced the pickup for the supernatural Western horror series “Wynonna Earp.”
Season three is expected to premiere in 2018. The series comes from IDW Entertainment and Canada’s Seven24 Films.
The cable channel announced the renewal at San Diego Comic-Con, where cast members Melanie Scrofano, Shamier Anderson, Tim Rozon, Dominique Provost-Chalkley, Katherine Barrell, Varun Saranga and Tamara Duarte participated in a panel discussion of the show along with showrunner and creator Emily Andras and comic book creator Beau Smith.
“Moderated by UPROXX’s Donna Dickens, the cast revealed behind-the-scenes antics and more details about the biggest hidden secret of the season — writing in Melanie Scrofano’s real-life pregnancy, which made Wynonna Earp the first pregnant superhero,” Syfy noted in an announcement.
The series currently airs on Fridays on Syfy.
