How Did the ‘Morning Joe’ Twitter War With Trump Affect the Show’s Ratings?

After a highly public war of words on Twitter last week between Donald Trump and the co-hosts of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” the show reached the largest audience in its history on Friday, the AP reports.

“The Nielsen company said Wednesday that 1.66 million people watched the MSNBC morning show the day after the tweets. That narrowly beat the show’s previous record, which came the day after Trump was elected last year,” the story reports.

As we reported last week, Trump went after co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, including an especially harsh “bleeding badly from a facelift” comment aimed at Brzezinski.

“Friday’s ‘Morning Joe’ proved more popular than Trump’s favorite morning show, ‘Fox & Friends,'” the AP notes. “Even Trump tweeted that he watched ‘Morning Joe’ on Friday.”
