Jennifer Aniston is taking the plunge back into series television, where the Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning actress did just fine back in the days of NBC’s “Friends” and Must-See TV.
Joining Aniston is co-star Reese Witherspoon, who brings some formidable credentials of her own to the project — not the least being an Oscar in 2006 for “Walk the Line.”
The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that the project, one of the largest TV packages yet, is set in the world of morning TV shows. It is expected to be marketed to premium cable networks and streamers, including Netflix.
“Given the stars attached, it is expected to draw significant interest from multiple bidders,” THR reports. “The project is based on an original idea and is being spearheaded by former HBO head of drama Michael Ellenberg and his newly launched film and TV production company Media Res.”
Jay Carson (“House of Cards:) is reportedly attached to write the script along with executive producing. Aniston and Witherspoon will also be among the executive producers.
