A mixed martial arts fighter was shot and killed Monday night in a home invasion, the Sun Sentinel reports. Aaron Rajman, a member of the prominent American Top Team, died in the incident in the Sandalfoot Cove neighborhood in West Boca, Fla.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said the shooting took place after several men entered the home. The shooting reportedly followed an argument between Rajman and the men.
The Sheriff’s Office said it has no motive for the shooting.
The report quotes Miami fight promoter Dave Zalewski, a friend of Rajman, saying: “I’m just literally at a loss for words. Everyone I talked to is sickened. He was the most humble guy around — he never talked bad about people.”
“Rajman’s Jewish faith played a large role in his life, Zalewski said, explaining the fighter spent several years teaching kids at a Jewish community school,” the report notes. “Last week, he taught law enforcement officers in Palm Beach County Krav Maga techniques to disarm an attacker, Zalewski said.”
Rajman reportedly won a number of amateur titles before turning pro in 2014.
