Joe Scarborough, who served as a Republican congressman from Florida and hosts the MSNBC program “Morning Joe” along with Mika Brzezinski, announced Tuesday night that he will be leaving the Republican party to become an independent.

Scarborough made the announcement on CBS’s “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” where he appeared along with Brzezinski, his fiancee.

Here’s the clip, in which Scarborough explains his reasons for turning his back on the GOP …

  1. Don’t let the door hit you in your smelly msnbc a**
He’s as “independent” as the dnc!

    • This would be completely lost on Joe, but this event is what numerate Republicans would characterize as “addition via subtraction.”

  2. Joe, pul-leeese !! You left the Republican party the day you started dating Mika and she told you how you should start thinking differently than you had before.

  3. It’s about time you came to your senses.

  4. As my first mother-in-law told me. “A stiff dick has no conscience!”
