Netflix is closing in on the rollout of the follow-up to its quirky hit “Stranger Things.” The streaming service today unveiled a new two-minute video announcing the title and premiere date for “Stranger Things 2.”
The show will return with its second installment on Netflix Oct. 27.
In promotional material accompanying the new clip, Netflix describes “Stranger Things” as “a love letter to the supernatural classics of the ’80s,” adding that the show is “the story of a young boy who vanishes into thin air. As friends, family and local police search for answers, they are drawn into an extraordinary mystery involving top-secret government experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one very strange little girl.”
The Netflix original stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Natalia Dyer, Cara Buono, Charlie Heaton and Matthew Modine. Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer are writers, directors and co-showrunners on the series, and are executive producers along with Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen via their 21 Laps entertainment banner. Shawn Levy also directs.
