Amazon will soon be unveiling a series that updates the story and characters of “The Wizard of Oz” for a new generation of kids. “Lost in Oz,” a new animated series aimed at children ages 6-11, premieres Aug. 4 on Amazon Prime Video.

The series tracks the adventures of 12-year-old Dorothy Gale — and her little dog, too — who suddenly discovers she’s not in Kansas anymore.

The series expands on the multiple Emmy Award-winning Amazon special “Lost in Oz: Extended Adventure.”
