A TV personality who has been a fixture on the entertainment beat is stepping down as co-anchor of “E! News.” E! confirmed over the holiday weekend that Maria Menounos is off the show.

Menounos joined E! in 2014 and has co-anchored “E! News” since 2015. She revealed a few days ago that she has been diagnosed with a brain tumor.

“I am so grateful for the past three years at E!, I had such an amazing time co-hosting with Jason Kennedy and working everyday with the wonderful roster of talent on the show including producers, staff and crew,” Menounos said in a statement released by E! “It was such a special, good-hearted group and one I’ll always consider family. A special thank you to Frances Berwick and Adam Stotsky for all the support they have shown me through the years especially during these tough times. I will truly miss everyone and looking forward to this next chapter in my life.”

Stotsky, the president of E! Entertainment, added in the release: “Our thoughts and support go out to Maria and her family and we wish them all the best knowing that Maria will tackle this with the same fierce dedication she is known for. We are grateful for Maria’s many contributions to E! over the past three years.”

  1. All of us who regularly attend the movies see Maria hosting First Look. Like popcorn, candy, and Coke, she has become part of the theater experience. I know we all hope she gets better and we will continue to see her before our movies begin in the future.

  2. So sad..I wish her well…
