Cable Net Hires Chief Marketing Officer

A fast-rising cable network that is part of a family of corporate heavyweights — even as it works on finding its way to mainstream awareness — has filled the key role of chief marketing officer.

Pop, a joint venture of CBS Corp. and Lionsgate that is in more than 80 million homes, hired Kent Rees for the newly created post. Rees is the former general manager of Pivot and brand chief at IFC.

Rees begins work in his new post Aug. 14, reporting to Pop President Brad Schwartz.
