Comedy-Drama Series Picked Up for Second Season

A comedy-drama series that debuted back in June will be returning for a second season. Netflix announced the renewal of the series “GLOW,” about the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, the 1980s women’s professional wrestling circuit.

The streaming service gave a 10-episode order for season two.

Created by Liz Flahive (“Homeland,” “Nurse Jackie”) and Carly Mensch (“Nurse Jackie,” “Orange Is The New Black,” “Weeds”) and executive produced by “Orange Is the New Black” creator Jenji Kohan and Tara Herrmann along with Flahive and Mensch, the series stars Alison Brie, Betty Gilpin, Sydelle Noel, Britney Young and Marc Maron.

Flahive and Mensch are the showrunners. The 10-episode first season continues to run on Netflix.
