An actress who has chalked up four Primetime Emmy nominations will dig in for a run on the comedy series “SMILF,” coming up on Showtime. The pay-cable channel announced today that Connie Britton, known for her roles on “Friday Night Lights” and “Nashville,” will appear in a multi-episode arc.
Britton will play Ally, Bridgette’s unstable boss. Frankie Shaw stars as Bridgette and also writes directs and executive produces the show.
Britton has received Emmy nominations for “Nashville,” “American Horror Story” and “Friday Night Lights.”
Raven Goodwin and Marc Webber will also have recurring roles on the new series, which premieres Sunday, Nov. 5, leading out from “Shameless.”
