Viewership for the 69th Primetime Emmy Awards, televised by CBS and hosted by the network’s late-night star Stephen Colbert, was up slightly from last year, with Nielsen estimating that 11.4 million people watched the program, the AP reports.

The show competed not only with NFL football, but also with the rollout of Ken Burns’ new documentary on the Vietnam War, the report notes.

Last year’s turnout of 11.3 million viewers was the lowest ever for the Emmys, the AP reports.
