Hillary Clinton Floats the Possibility of Contesting the 2016 Election

Sep 18, 2017  •  Post A Comment

Hillary Clinton has been sharply critical of Donald Trump as she makes the rounds in support of her new memoir “What Happened,” but today she ramped up the attack.

In an interview with NPR’s Terry Gross, Clinton not only questioned the legitimacy of the Trump presidency but also refused to rule out the possibility of contesting the election results should collusion with the Russians be proven.

In response to a question from Gross asking whether Clinton would rule out questioning the legitimacy of the election, Clinton said: “No, I wouldn’t rule it out.” But she added that there are no clear means for pursuing such a challenge.

“I just don’t think we have a mechanism,” Clinton said, adding: “You know, the Kenya election was just overturned and really what’s interesting about that — and I hope somebody writes about it, Terry — the Kenyan election was also a project of Cambridge Analytica, the data company owned by the Mercer family that was instrumental in the Brexit vote.

“There’s now an investigation going on in the U.K., because of the use of data and the weaponization of information. They were involved in the Trump campaign after he got the nomination, and I think that part of what happened is Mercer said to Trump, We’ll help you, but you have to take Bannon as your campaign chief. You’ve got to take Kellyanne Conway and these other people who are basically Mercer protégées.

“And so we know that there was this connection. So what happened in Kenya, which I’m only beginning to delve into, is that the Supreme Court there said there are so many really unanswered and problematic questions, we’re going to throw the election out and re-do it. We have no such provision in our country. And usually we don’t need it.”

  1. And so it continues….She lost. Plain and simple. Russia will be a non-story and Hillary WILL run again because SHE thinks as thoigh SHE is owed the presidency…

  2. And this is the ” woman” ( quotes intentional) who lambasted Trump when he said, during the campaign that he would not rule out contesting the election.
    Hill is seriously brain damaged
    Seriously

  3. Go away, you ignorant worthless hag!

  4. This is going to drive Donald Trump nuts.

    • It certainly seems to be driving his supporters nuts, judging by some of the other comments.

  5. Look, neither made good candidates. I am just glad that HE won and NOT her. She has never apologized or accepted responsibility for her behavior: All of the makings of an alcoholic. All of her email servers were professionally “scrubbed.” What was she really hiding? Ideas for her next series of pants suits? This is probably the first time in her adult life where she was put in place.

Why is she still talking about the election if she has “moved on?” She has not moved on. It takes time to move on. I wish that she and her family would cede the spotlight and start promoting the next candidate of her party.

  7. If Mueller’s investigation proves Russia/Wikileaks interfered with the election of the President of the U.S.A., she has an obligation to the citizens of this country to contest the results.

  8. But “A” Mueller’s investigation has to this point gotten no traction toward proving there was any collusion. And it won’t because there is absolutely nothing there. THEN what will the Hildebeast do? I would say her “obligation” is to go away, but when has duty, honor or obligation EVER meant anything to Hillary Clinton??? Every day her sad story plays out is another reminder to the American people that they made the right decision to send her packing. And every day her “poor, poor, pitiful me” tour continues, the American people sour even further on the democrat party.

  9. Jimbo, I feel fairly certain that if your candidate had lost the election and there was strong evidence indicating Russian involvement that your message wouldn’t be for him/her to move on. Writing that Clinton is an alcoholic, when she’s not, is typical of the classless, scum-bag tactics your candidate used and still uses. And I’m amused that you believe that falling back on pants suits quips will somehow bolster the already low-brow nature of your posts. Lastly, it is typical for defeated or retiring politicians of either parties to write a book and to do the media circuit when they step away from public life. Nothing there to complain about Jim. Perhaps time for you to move on?

  10. EVERYBODY NEEDS TO MOVE ON! THE DEMOCRATS LOST THE REPUBLICANS WON! HELLO PEOPLE!! IT HAPPENS IN EVERY SINGLE ELECTION THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THIS COUNTRY. THERE IS A WINNER AND A LOSER!! THERE IS NOT A TROPHY GIVEN OUT TO ALL THE PARTICIPANTS LIKE IN A LITTLE LEAGUE GAME. SO DEAL WITH IT AND FOR THE LOVE OF PETE MOVE ON!!
