‘Monday Night Football’ Goes All ‘Star Wars’

Halftime of last night’s “Monday Night Football” NFL game on ESPN, between the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears, became a “Star Wars” extravaganza as Stormtroopers marched out to fireworks at Chicago’s Soldier Field.

The production included the official unveiling of the trailer for “Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” which you can watch below. Since its release, the clip has become the No. 1 trending video on YouTube.

The AP reports that the clip “featured new and familiar characters from the Star Wars universe. Rey (Daisy Ridley) is shown wielding her light saber and questioning her destiny as Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) observes, ‘I’ve seen this raw strength only once before. It didn’t scare me enough then. It does now.’”

The trailer also features John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Carrie Fisher, Chewbacca and a new birdlike creature known as a Porg.

“The Last Jedi” is due in theaters Dec. 15. Here’s the trailer …
