The number of accusers continues to climb in the Harvey Weinstein scandal, with now more than 50 women accusing the disgraced film mogul of sexual misconduct, USA Today reports.

Among the latest accusers is Mimi Haleyi, a former production assistant introduced at a press conference today by Gloria Allred. Haleyi described an incident she says took place in New York in 2004, at Weinstein’s loft apartment.

The report quotes Haleyi saying: “He wouldn’t take no for an answer and backed me into a room which was not lit, but looked like a kid’s bedroom. He held me down on the bed. I tried to get him off of me and kept asking him to stop but it was impossible. He then orally forced himself on me while I was on my period. He even pulled my tampon out. I was mortified.”

Haleyi added: “I would not have wanted anyone to do that to me, even if that person had been a romantic partner.”

“Haleyi said afterwards he rolled over and asked her, ‘Don’t you feel we’re so much closer to each other now?,'” USA Today adds.

The alleged assault may have taken place outside of New York’s statute of limitations, but Allred noted: “It may be relevant information for law enforcement to have as they investigate Mr. Weinstein.”

As we reported previously, Weinstein is under investigation for alleged sexual assaults in New York, London and Los Angeles. Additionally, the state of New York is conducting a civil rights investigation into The Weinstein Co.
