Numbers Are In for Premiere Week — One Network Extends a Winning Streak, Another Wins the Key Demo

Nielsen Media Research numbers for the week ending Oct. 1 — premiere week for the 2017-2018 television season — show that NBC won the week in the key 18-49 demo while CBS won total viewers.

For CBS, the win extended a streak in which the network has won premiere week in total viewers for nine consecutive years now.

The figures reflect Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week.

Here are the prime-time averages for the week ending Oct. 1:

CBS: 9.501 million

NBC: 7.776 million

ABC: 5.789 million

Fox: 3.138 million

Adults 18-49 (rating/share)

NBC: 2.1/8

CBS: 1.9/7

ABC: 1.3/5

Fox: 1.0/4

Adults 25-54 (rating/share)

NBC: 2.6/8

CBS: 2.5/8

ABC: 1.7/6

Fox: 1.2/4
