An appearance by Kevin Spacey that was already taped has been cut from the CBS program “Carol Burnett 50th Anniversary Special,” set to air next month.
The move is part of a trend among companies having any involvement with the two-time Oscar winner to distance themselves from Spacey as allegations of sexual impropriety continue to swirl around the actor. Netflix announced late last week that it has severed ties with Spacey, leaving the sixth and final season of “House of Cards” hanging in the balance.
Earlier this week, Spacey’s movie “All the Money in the World” got the boot from the upcoming AFI Fest.
The Carol Burnett special is scheduled to run on CBS on Sunday, Dec. 3, with a guest roster that includes Jim Carrey, Jay Leno, Stephen Colbert, Martin Short and other household names.
