With star Julia Louis-Dreyfus set to undergo treatment for breast cancer, production on the acclaimed HBO series “Veep” is on hold, Deadline reports.
“Louis-Dreyfus has been open about her ongoing treatment since publicly sharing her diagnosis, posting updates on social media,” Deadline notes. “Sources said she received the diagnosis September 18, the day after she took home the Emmy for best actress in a comedy series.”
The report quotes executive producer Frank Rich saying in an interview today on SiriusXM: “We’re obviously postponing production of the show — we were supposed to have started now — while she’s in treatment. But the expectation is that we will shoot again. We have one more season we’re doing, which we’re incredibly excited about.”
