A series that has become one of HBO’s signature shows will be back for its 10th season. The premium cable channel announced today that it renewed “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”

Larry David, the show’s star and creator, is quoted in the announcement saying: “As I’ve said many times, when one has the opportunity to annoy someone, one should do so.”

Production on season 10 will begin next spring, with additional details to be announced as they are confirmed. The series aired its season nine finale on Dec. 3.

The comedy series just received two Screen Actors Guild Award nominations, for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series (Larry David) and Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.

“Debuting on HBO in 2001 and presenting 90 episodes to date, ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ stars ‘Seinfeld’ co-creator David as an over-the-top version of himself in an unsparing but tongue-in-cheek depiction of his fictionalized life,” HBO notes in the announcement.

Season nine brought back series veterans Jeff Garlin, Susie Essman, J.B. Smoove, Cheryl Hines, Richard Lewis, Bob Einstein, Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen.
