Local Anchor Responds On-Air to Being Called the N-Word — Watch the Video Now

A TV news anchor provided a public response on the air after being called the N-word in an email from a viewer. Sharon Reed, an anchor at WPCH-TV in Atlanta, put up the email for viewers of the newscast to see and then offered her response, which you can see in the video below.

The Meredith-owned station, formerly WTBS in Atlanta, is on UHF Channel 20 and is virtual channel 17 on local cable.

  1. Why is this a story? Most black people in the media get this type of email every day.

    • It’s a story because she chose to address it on-air. And good for her. We are living in a time when racists are feeling empowered. I applaud any effort to expose and shame these disgusting people. And why wouldn’t you?

      I suppose you and the other “contributor” below feel that because black people in the media are likely called the n-word on a daily basis, they should just accept it and/or ignore it?
