E! has severed ties with the creator and showrunner of its drama series “The Royals” after he was accused of sexual harassment. The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that the NBCUniversal-owned cable network parted ways with Mark Schwahn after he was suspended Nov. 15.

The network, along with “The Royals” producers Lionsgate Television and Universal Cable Productions dumped Schwahn following what the report calls “a wave of sexual harassment allegations from the cast of the series as well as his former drama ‘One Tree Hill.'”

In a statement released today, Lionsgate TV said: “We have concluded our investigation and Mark will not be returning to ‘The Royals.’ The fourth season of the show has already completed production and will air as scheduled on E! in the spring.”

THR adds: “The controversy surrounding Schwahn started when former ‘One Tree Hill’ writer Audrey Wauchope tweeted, without publicly naming him, that she and her writing partner were sexually harassed during their time working on the teen soap, including inappropriate touching and comments, and accused the showrunner of showing naked photos of an actress he was in a relationship with to crewmembers.”
