Trump on Alabama Senate Election: ‘I Was Right!’

Dec 13, 2017  •  Post A Comment

Donald Trump responded to Tuesday’s defeat of GOP candidate Roy Moore in the Alabama Senate election by doing a little chest thumping in a tweet this morning even though he had backed Moore.

Trump said he predicted Moore’s defeat, declaring: “I was right! Roy worked hard but the deck was stacked against him!”

You can see Trump’s full tweet below.

An earlier tweet released by Trump’s account struck a more conciliatory tone. In it Trump wrote: “Congratulations to Doug Jones on a hard fought victory. The write-in votes played a very big factor, but a win is a win. The people of Alabama are great, and the Republicans will have another shot at this seat in a very short period of time. It never ends!”

Trump later sent out still another tweet about the election, writing: “If last night’s election proved anything, it proved that we need to put up GREAT Republican candidates to increase the razor thin margins in both the House and Senate.”

  1. Donald Trump should resign because, knowing that Roy Moore was going to lose, he wasted his time and our money by going to campaign for Mr Moore. Why would you go campaign for a man you knew was going to lose unless you were stupid?

    • You answered your own question, there, Stu!

  2. As an insider in Hollywood, the rumor mill is buzzing about Donald and Roy’s new business bringing interactive adult entertainment to the young girls market; inspired by Trump’s fascination with national monuments, in this case being Mount Rushmore – the new business will be called, “Mount Trump Moore” – The rumors support that this might be Donald’s all new line-up of consumer businesses to take over after his failed casino empire … more to follow soon!

  3. Where are all the Trump supporters??? hmmmm. Probably trying to twist themselves into a pretzel to explain his support for a child molester who lost in a southern red state. Here comes my favorite boy band tune….

  4. Trump was wrong to support Moore, but so were the people that defended Bill Clinton and continue to hail him as great; and all the people that have supported Franken and all the others who have recently resigned; and where Congress made payoffs to settle sexual harassment issues. Politics is a very smelly game and the swamp just keeps getting deeper and darker as more info comes out about both parties.

  5. Trump supported the Republican candidate, who was not his first choice, but the only choice left. Are you as critical of the Bernie Sanders supporters who switched their support to Hillary in the general election?

    • Moore was not “the only choice left.” There was another choice, who happens to be a Democrat, and is not a pedophile. Trump not only endorsed the pedophile, he campaigned HARD for him. Do you also think he did that because he had no other choice???
